Mysore, Oct. 2 (KCU&KK)- District In-Charge Minister S.A. Ramdas and Mayor Sandesh Swamy together launched a three-day massive Garbage Clearance Drive in city under the aegis of Mysore City Corporation (MCC) and Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) at a programme held today at Doddakere Maidan.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramdas said the drive has been aptly commenced on Gandhi Jayanthi Day with Dasara round the corner.

Explaining the features of the drive, Sandesh Swamy said "about 1800 lorry-loads of garbage and debris will be cleared in the three-day drive utilising 64 excavators and 131 tippers. Ramdas will personally visit all the 9 zones after three days and assess the quality of the drive undertaken. The mission will not be confined just to the period of Dasara but the motto will be to ensure a Nirmala Nagara."
