With a good number of voters allegedly left high and dry unable to exercise their franchise in the recently held polls to Mysore City Corporation (MCC) owing to their names missing from the voters list, the process of revision of voters’ list commenced in city again today.
Heavy rush was seen at all the six zonal offices of MCC and at all the polling booths where applications were being received for inclusion and deletion of names and change of address. The intention of the exercise seems to be to evolve a perfect voters’ list sans any mistakes for the ensuing Assembly polls.
Applications from voters of Chamundeshwari constituency were being received at the Tahasildar’s office on Hunsur Road. Tahasildar Naveen Joseph told Star of Mysore that 15,083 applications have been received so far and 9,040 have been processed.
DC Dr. Ramegowda told SOM that 68,000 applications have been received for revision in Corporation limits.
It has come to light that a huge number of applications received at MCC Zonal office 6 for revision of voters list have been left uncleared since Jan. 4 indicating the laxity of the officials.
Aadhar card: With Mar. 15 set as deadline for submission of Aadhar card for receiving LPG subsidy, heavy rush was seen at LPG agencies and also at Aadhar enrolment centres to register for cards.
UID Zonal Co-ordinator Sarang Math told SOM that e-Aadhar cards were being given to people who have enrolled their names for Aadhar but not received the cards. He added that e-Aadhar would suffice for receiving LPG subsidy.
