Maharaja of Mysore Chamaraja Wodeyar X started Dasara exhibition in 1880 with the aim of introducing timely developments to the people of Mysore. Now Karnataka Exhibition Authority (KEA) is entrusted of holding the exhibition every year.
Various stalls which sell items like clothes, plastic items, kitchenware, cosmetics and eatables are set up and they attract a significant number of people. A play area containing attractions like a Ferris wheel is also present to provide entertainment to the people. Various Governmental agencies setup stalls to signify the achievements and projects that they have undertaken.
The Mysore Dasara 2013 Exhibition will begin from Oct. 5th 2013 and will be held for 90 day. There will be at least 45 different kinds of amusement items and games, specially designed for children.
Entry fee to the exhibition will be Rs. 20 per person.
